(01)Overview
The project
A Sporting Chance is built around grassroots sport and the people who keep local clubs going. The website introduces the idea of entering a competition for a nominated club and explains the community purpose behind it.
The design gives that purpose a strong visual identity while keeping competition information, rules and the steps involved easy to find.
(02)The challenge
What the business needed
The website needed to explain a club-focused competition offer without losing the human reason behind it. Visitors need to understand the process and find practical information before considering participation.
The structure also needed room for competition status, account access, results and information about the clubs the project aims to support.
(03)Approach
How we approached it
Oversized sporting headlines, a navy and lime palette and grassroots imagery establish a confident, community-led identity. The content moves from the local-club story to the practical steps of choosing a number, nominating a club and following the result.
Distinct sections explain possible uses of club support, while an interactive sport explorer broadens the story beyond a single sport.
(04)Solution
What we built
- Dedicated competition pages with published details and status.
- A clear three-step explanation of the participation journey.
- Club nomination messaging throughout the experience.
- Account and basket routes.
- Mission, club, winners and results pages.
- An interactive explorer covering ten grassroots sports.
- FAQs and clearly linked competition information.

(06)Website experience
Design & UX decisions
Strong headings and clear calls to action guide the visitor from the community purpose to the competition details. The visual hierarchy separates the story, the steps and the information needed to make a decision.
The sport explorer supports pointer, touch and button controls. Responsive layouts carry the same bold identity across desktop and mobile screens.
