Biggies Snack Shack
A bespoke WooCommerce ordering website with as much personality as the food — big type, a searchable menu and a basket that’s always one tap away.

(01)Overview
The project
Biggies is an independent snack shack serving breakfast butties, loaded favourites and hot food for delivery, events and workplaces. The brand is bold and unapologetic, so the website needed to be too — while still making ordering quick on a phone.
Built with: WordPress website with menu and basket interface
(02)The challenge
What the business needed
Biggies needed a website that sells food the way the van does: loud, friendly and without fuss.
It had to handle online ordering — a full menu, a basket and checkout — plus the practical things a food business can’t get wrong: opening hours, allergen information and a way to enquire about events and workplace visits.
(03)Approach
How we approached it
We built the brand into the interface rather than bolting it on — condensed headline type, the Biggies gold, and food photography doing the heavy lifting.
Ordering was designed around a phone held in one hand: menu sections you can jump between, a search box, and a basket bar that stays visible without covering the menu.
(04)Solution
What we built
- A custom WordPress theme built specifically for Biggies — no page builder.
- A menu and basket interface. Online ordering was paused when reviewed; payment processing has not been independently verified.
- A searchable, categorised delivery menu with an allergy notice before ordering.
- Dedicated allergens, contact & hours, privacy and terms pages.
- An events and workplace enquiry form, clear that an enquiry is not a confirmed booking.
- Genuine Facebook recommendations shown with links to the originals.
- The ability to pause online ordering site-wide with a clear message — currently in use.

(06)Website experience
Design & UX decisions
The persistent basket bar (“View order · 0 items · £0.00”) keeps the running total visible as people browse, which matters on a long menu viewed on a phone.
Reviews are presented honestly: short excerpts with links to the original Facebook recommendations and a note of when they were checked.
