(01)Overview
The project
Detail Society is a Barnsley-based mobile car detailing business working across South Yorkshire. The work is meticulous and the prices reflect it, so the website needed to feel as considered as the finish on the cars.
Built with: Custom WordPress theme
(02)The challenge
What the business needed
Detailing is a trust purchase. People are handing over a car they care about, often at their own home, so the site had to prove the standard of work before anyone picks up the phone.
It also needed to explain eight different services — from a safe exterior wash to two-stage paint correction and ceramic coating — without overwhelming people or hiding the prices.
(03)Approach
How we approached it
A restrained, dark design with serif headlines and a warm accent lets the photography carry the detail. Copy is short and specific: what each service does, who it’s for and where prices start.
Trust is layered through the page — Google rating near the top, a real before/after, a curated gallery, then reviews — so each scroll adds another reason to enquire.
(04)Solution
What we built
- A custom WordPress theme with dedicated pages for each detailing service and clear “from” prices.
- An interactive before/after comparison slider using a genuine Volvo XC60 job.
- Google reviews section showing the rating and review count with the date they were verified.
- A consultation-led booking journey: tell us about the vehicle, receive a recommendation, choose a date.
- A service area section naming the towns covered, supporting local search.
- Click-to-call and a persistent mobile call button.
(05)Gallery
Desktop, tablet and mobile.

(06)Website experience
Design & UX decisions
On mobile, a fixed “Call to book” bar keeps the main action available without getting in the way of the content.
Service pages are structured for search as much as for people: each one targets a specific treatment and links back into the booking journey.
(07)Key features
Functionality
- Individual service pages with pricing
- Before/after comparison slider
- Google rating & reviews section
- Consultation-led booking journey
- Service-area content for local SEO
- Mobile call-to-book bar
- Custom theme — no page builder
(08)Outcome
The result
Detail Society launched with a website that matches the premium positioning of the business and gives every service its own search-friendly page.
We only publish figures we can verify. Measurable results for this project haven’t been published yet — ask us about it in a consultation.
