(01)Overview
The project
Brown & Co The Salon brings independent hair and beauty businesses together in a shared professional setting. Its website introduces the people, the salon spaces and the Doncaster locations in one welcoming place.
The central task was to serve two different visitors: someone looking for a professional to book with, and someone looking for a furnished space to grow their own business.
(02)The challenge
What the business needed
Clients need to find the right professional and understand how to contact or book with them. Prospective renters need a different set of answers: what spaces are available, how the arrangements work and where the salon is.
The website also needs to distinguish the two locations clearly. Rental information focuses on Thorne, while location pages explain the Thorne and Stainforth salons.
(03)Approach
How we approached it
Warm neutral colours, generous spacing and editorial typography create a calm first impression. Real photographs of the salon show visitors the setting they can expect.
Clear routes to professionals and rental spaces keep both audiences in view. Individual pages give each business and each type of space room for useful detail.
(04)Solution
What we built
- Individual professional profiles with links to their published booking or business contact routes.
- Dedicated pages for hair stations, nail stations, private treatment rooms, make-up stations and lash or brow spaces.
- Published rental arrangements and a clear rates page.
- Separate Thorne and Stainforth location guides.
- A salon photo gallery and an optional tour.
- A rental enquiry journey that asks about the profession, space and preferred days.

(06)Website experience
Design & UX decisions
The main navigation keeps professionals, spaces, rates and locations easy to reach. Clients can explore the person behind a service before following their booking route.
For renters, the journey moves from seeing the salon to comparing options and discussing availability. The responsive layout supports both journeys on a phone, with clear headings and touch-friendly links.
